Welcome to The Black Veil Bookshop - Western Australia’s only bookstore specialising in independently published books. We have a large selection of indie titles available for purchase from both established and new authors. 

I am often asked about our name and it comes from Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. The protagonist, Catherine Morland, is reading The Mysteries of Udolpho, a gothic novel by Ann Radcliffe, and is preoccupied with her desire to find out what lies behind the mysterious black veil. I feel that same excitement when I start reading a new book.
What mysteries lay beneath the cover?

The only way to find out is to open the book and begin reading.
